Site Manager Director
Your Role
DOM is seeking a Director to be responsible for building a large team of 20-25 Site Managers/Web Site Coordinators. You will be part of an international team working on dozens of .com and international websites in multiple verticals. Your initial focus will be on the .com and international versions of lead generating online poker guides. A requirement for success in this role is the ability to manage daily communications with stakeholders, including IT, SEO, content production teams, and senior management.
A Site Manager is responsible for traffic acquisition mainly via SEM tactics. Tasks include:
- Overall site governing and refinement, including content, links and visitor flow
- Interfacing with several internal departments such as IT, design etc, to maintain a high quality of the sites’ look and feel
- Prospecting – finding sites of interest for partnerships to build a substantial SEO value and a successful presence on the Internet
- Negotiations – contacting interesting sites to purchase advertising (banners), perform link exchanges and similar SEO actions
- Proofreading of sites and some translations into local language (i.e. foreign language)
- Handle advertising material, such as banners, articles for link deals etc
Team Fit
The Site Manager Director will have 20-25 direct reports:
- 3-5 Senior Site Managers
- 17-22 Junior Site Managers
In this role, you will collaborate with Business Unit Directors, Marketing and IT Directors, the Marketing Department, and the Site Management Team/Senior Executives at our parent company.
The Site Manager Director will report directly to the General Manager of DOM and the Chief Site Manager Director in Stockholm, Sweden.
Responsibilities
- Learn DOM SEO and Site Management guidelines and continuously upgrade your SEO knowledge and best practices
- Learn the Site Managers role, workflow & tasks and have the ability to make your own deals apart from managing and coaching others
- Work with marketing department to develop road maps and set priorities for website traffic volume and quality
- Be part of setting strategy, goal and vision for multiple online portals in various segments
- Maximize revenue via top ranking on the biggest money making key words and portals
- Full accountability for traffic & lead generation for sites, segments & markets, quality & performance of site managers and cost per headcount
- Full staff responsibility – including:
- Hiring/firing
- Conducting performance reviews
- Setting salaries/bonuses
- Approving vacations
- Employee satisfaction/retention
- Task prioritization
- Employee development
- Emphasize the development of coaching skills in the site management team and be open to receiving personal feedback and to sharing your knowledge within the site management group
- Develop and implement a career structure within the site manager group in Vancouver in co-operation with our Stockholm office that supports long term talent retention in our group of companies
- Make quality assurance a top priority, have the team and/or SEO team resource check the quality of all linking deals made and constantly emphasize natural link building skills in the team
- Recommend and implement process improvements to ensure efficient operations
- Provide feedback & co-operate with international sister and parent company offices, including Site Management Teams and Senior Managers
Professional Requirements
- Three to five years leadership experience in marketing and sales in a fast-paced business environment preferably within an internet or online business.
- Proven track record of managing a high-performing sales team
- Minimum two years of online sales experience
- Experience in an international or global business is a plus
- General understanding of what goes into all aspects of successful marketing of a website e.g. media buying, SEO, affiliate marketing, PPC and web analytics
Formal Requirements
- University degree (preferably in Business or Marketing)
- Fluent in English
- Fluency in additional European languages is an asset
