SEO Specialist

Your Role

The SEO Specialist is responsible for SEO at the Vancouver office and will be part of an international team of SEO experts working on dozens of .com and international websites in multiple industries. Specifically, you will work to take our client’s online poker lead generation business to the next level and will ensure that our clients keep the No. 1 position in the poker lead market.

The ability to manage daily communications with stakeholders across a wide range of disciplines, including technology administrators, writers, web designers, developers and marketing managers is the key to having success in this position.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute a variety of SEO-related functions including Web page audits for search engine algorithm compliance, keyword analysis, link and performance metrics
  • Design, implement, analyze and optimize natural search techniques
  • On-site improvement for our sites
  • In-depth competitive analysis
  • Drive creation of tactical execution plans, including testing strategies to improve Web site performance
  • Track Web KPIs using Omniture Site Catalyst and Search Center to improve ranking/indexing/positioning
  • Identify and build link strategy
  • Work with IT, marketing and media departments to cross-functionally coordinate SEO execution
  • Drive documentation of SEO guidelines and provide internal training to teams
  • Continually reinforce expertise in the field by staying on top of current SEO news and algorithm shifts
  • Coach designers, developers and editors on SEO principles on an ongoing basis

Ideal Candidate

Our ideal candidate will have a minimum two (2) years SEO experience and a university degree. Strong understanding of the principles of SEO best practices including keyword research, link analysis and page level optimization techniques. Proven history of successfully attaining or exceeding ambitious goals. Will have experience with Web content management tools and familiarity with HTML, JavaScript and CSS, Omniture Web analytics, field of copywriting for search engines and knowledge of site architecture. Must have the ability to select potential link candidates and knowledge of Web site usability. Fluent in English is a plus.

Rewards

DOM provides an excellent benefit package effective immediately upon starting employment, including life, health and dental insurance, plus a $120 monthly travel allowance and $800 per year for fitness-related fees. To start, three weeks' paid vacation, increasing to four weeks after two years of full-time employment. There are flex-time opportunities as well. Salary will be commensurate with experience and will be enhanced by performance-based incentives.
